Raise a Glass to Pub Culture: Waterford Evening Pub Tour

At The Clock Tower, Meagher's Quay · Meagher's Quay, Waterford, Co. Waterford

Guided evening pub tour starting at the Clock Tower on Meagher's Quay, Waterford

What to Expect

Raise a Glass is a guided walking tour of Waterford city’s pubs, run by Tasteful Tours and led by a guide called Sinéad. The group meets at the Clock Tower on Meagher’s Quay and works its way through three pubs across the evening, taking in the cultural quarter, the Viking Triangle and the Apple Market end of the city. The subject is the heritage, history and social stories behind some of the city’s oldest public houses, and how Irish pub culture has changed from the grocer-bars of the past to what the trade looks like now.

The ticket includes three drinks, one in each pub, and there are low-alcohol, alcohol-free and non-alcoholic options for anyone who would rather not drink, so the tour works whether or not you are drinking. It runs for three hours from 7pm to 10pm, which leaves the rest of the night free if you want to stay on in the city afterwards. The tour is strictly over 18s and operates a drinkaware policy, and the organisers state that hen and stag parties are not accommodated. Booking is through Eventbrite, with refunds available up to three days before the date.
