At Treacy's West County Hotel · Limerick Road, Ennis, Co. Clare, V95 C9CT
Treacy’s West County is one of the biggest entertainment rooms in County Clare and has run country music dancing weekends since 2013, drawing dancers from across Clare, Limerick and north Kerry. The hotel states that its Country Dancing Weekends take place on Sundays, with doors opening from 9pm and the music starting at 9.30pm. The bill is live country bands rather than a DJ, and the hotel has hosted the biggest names on the Irish country circuit over the years, including Nathan Carter, Mike Denver and Derek Ryan.
Individual weekend dates are announced through the year rather than being fixed to a weekly slot, so the hotel’s events page is the place to check before travelling. Dancing at Treacy’s sits inside a broader social dancing programme that also includes afternoon tea dances, Dancing for Pleasure sessions and the Muriel O’Connor and Fran Curry dancing weekend. Residents’ rates are usually available for people travelling in for a full weekend, which is how a good share of the room arrives. Other dated entertainment in the same venue this autumn includes Gearoid McCarthy in concert on 23 October 2026, booked through reception, Ticketmaster or Eventbrite.
Treacy’s West County is on the Limerick Road on the southern approach to Ennis, roughly 1.5km from the town centre and signposted from the M18 Ennis south exit. There is a large free car park on site, which matters for a venue that draws people driving in from three counties. Ennis bus and rail station is about a 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride away, and taxis into the town centre run at closing time. Overnight rooms at the hotel are the usual answer for anyone travelling a distance to dance.
