IrelandMe ("we", "us") is a local-information website covering villages, towns and counties across Ireland. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit irelandme.com, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

We do not have user accounts and we do not ask you to submit personal details to browse the site. Browsing does not require contact details. We process usage and technical information:

Event submissions

When you submit an event or correction, we collect the event details, your name and email, source links, and our review notes. Your contact name and email stay in a private review queue; they are not included in the public event catalogue. Event details may be published after review. We use your contact details to assess your submission and contact you about it.

Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information to check for spam. We store a protected hash of the submitting IP address for rate limiting, rather than the raw address in the submission table. Cloudflare stores the private queue. An automated review agent may compare submissions with current listings and public sources to prepare recommendations for editorial review.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser extension to opt out of Google Analytics, without affecting your ability to read the site.

Affiliate links

Some pages link to tours, tickets and experiences through partners such as Viator, GetYourGuide and Ticketmaster. If you click through and book, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow one of these links you are subject to that partner's own privacy policy and cookies. We do not receive your payment details - those go directly to the partner.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. Our hosting, analytics and advertising providers process technical and usage information when their services load. Event submissions are stored in Cloudflare and spam checks are provided by Cloudflare.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase any personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). If you submitted an event, contact us using the email below to request access, correction or deletion of your submission details.
