What to Expect

Saturday is the biggest night of the week at The Foundry, the nightclub built into the Dinn Ri entertainment complex on Tullow Street in Carlow town. Carlow Tourism lists it as an award-winning contemporary nightclub with up to four music rooms running at once, covering commercial, chart, RnB, techno and house, along with a state of the art lighting and sound system. On a Saturday all of that capacity is generally in use, and the club draws from well beyond Carlow town itself.

Because The Foundry sits inside the wider Dinn Ri complex, the night is not confined to one dance floor. The Bamboo Bar, the VIP bar and the Tower venue all connect through, which gives the place a scale that town-centre clubs rarely manage and means you can move between rooms and volume levels without going back out onto the street. The Foundry has hosted internationally recognised DJs, and guest bookings for particular Saturdays are announced through the club’s own Facebook and Instagram rather than through third-party ticket sites, so check there before travelling in for a specific name.

Getting There

The Foundry is on Tullow Street, the main street running through the centre of Carlow town, so it is walkable from anywhere in town and roughly ten minutes on foot from Carlow railway station on Station Road. By road Carlow is off the M9 Dublin to Waterford motorway and on the N80 from Portlaoise and Enniscorthy. Town centre car parks are a short walk away, and there is a taxi rank on Tullow Street outside the door, which is the useful detail at 2am on a Sunday morning.
