What to Expect

Saturday is the night at Palace on Bridge Street, Tullamore. The venue lists itself as opening on Saturdays and on bank holiday Sundays, so the regular Saturday club night is the one to plan around. Doors are from 11pm, there is a DJ through the night, and the late bar and dancing run on into the small hours. Saturday pulls in from a wide catchment around the county town, and it is common for people to spend the earlier part of the evening in the Bridge House Bar a few doors down, where a live band plays before the club opens, and then move across.

Palace is part of the Bridge House group’s Bridge Street complex, alongside the Bridge House Bar and the Bridge House Hotel. The music is current chart and dance floor material rather than a specialist night, which is what fills the floor on a Saturday. Door charges vary week to week, and rise when a promoter has a named event on, so check before you go. Expect a queue later in the night, and be aware the club also takes occasional daytime ticketed bookings from visiting promoters, which run and clear before the regular Saturday night starts.

Getting There

Palace is on Bridge Street in Tullamore town centre, within a short walk of the town’s pubs, hotels and the Grand Canal harbour. There is no car park at the venue, so most people walk in or take a taxi, and town centre public parking is close by.
