All White Summer Party at Suya Man, Drogheda

At Suya Man · 1 Palace Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth

Party crowd dressed in white at an evening event

What to Expect

Afroparty brings its All White Summer Party to Suya Man on Palace Street in Drogheda on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend. The dress code is the name of the night: all white, with a €100 cash prize for the best-dressed person on the floor. DJ Teeface handles the music across amapiano, afrobeat, dancehall and R&B, so this is a genre night rather than a general chart club.

Suya Man is a West African grill and bar, and the food is part of the event rather than an afterthought. The listing promises a live barbecue running through the evening alongside a shisha service. Doors are at 6pm and the night finishes at 11.30pm, which makes this an early-evening party rather than a late club, and leaves the option of moving on to Earth on Stockwell Lane afterwards if you want a later finish. Entry is €11.70 in advance. Note the age policy: the organisers list this as strictly over 21s, which is stricter than the standard over-18s door in Drogheda, so bring photo ID that shows your date of birth. Afroparty is a promoter rather than the venue, so ticketing and any changes go through them rather than through Suya Man directly.

Palace Street runs off Shop Street in central Drogheda, a few minutes’ walk from the Tholsel and West Street. The Stockwell Street and Scotch Hall car parks are both within about five minutes on foot, and on-street parking nearby is free in the evening. Drogheda MacBride station on the Dublin to Belfast line is around ten minutes’ walk, and the Dublin Road coach stops served by Bus Eireann and Matthews are a similar distance, so a return to Dublin or Dundalk is possible without a car given the 11.30pm finish.
