At Kazbar · 57 John Street, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Kazbar runs live entertainment six nights a week from its building on John Street, and its own summary of the layout is the useful one: four bars, three floors, two beer gardens. That spread means the venue can carry a sports crowd early and an entertainment and dancing crowd later without either taking over the whole building, and you can move between a quieter room and a busier one as the night goes on.
Alongside the live entertainment programme, Kazbar screens live sport and runs a cocktail-making session aimed at groups and hen parties, so the mix of people in on a Saturday shifts across the evening. The bar opens from 10:30am Monday to Saturday and from 12:30pm on Sunday, and trades late every night rather than only at weekends. Acts and themed nights change week to week and the venue lists them by night of the week rather than publishing a season calendar, so the specific act on any given evening is worth checking on Kazbar’s own channels before you go. It sits in the middle of the John Street cluster, alongside Factory and the other late venues on the street.
John Street is Waterford city’s main late-night street, running south from the city centre and about five minutes on foot from the Quay and the Apple Market. City bus routes stop on the Quay, the nearest public transport point, and there are taxi ranks on the Quay and at Broad Street. Parking is available at Michael Street and City Square, both a short walk away, but is limited late at night. The other John Street venues are all within a few doors of each other, so most people walk between them.
