At Electric Garden and Theatre · 36 Abbeygate Street Upper, Galway, Co. Galway, H91 W577
Revoada is a Brazilian club night and the Galway edition runs four and a half hours at Electric Garden and Theatre on Abbeygate Street Upper. The organisers, Antonio Capoeira Events Ireland, promise uma noite cheia de energia, música e momentos inesquecíveis, a night of energy, music and memorable moments, and pitch it squarely at Galway’s Brazilian community and anyone who wants a dancefloor that is not playing the standard city centre chart set. E O Guedes is on the decks.
Galway has one of the larger Brazilian populations in the west of Ireland and nights like this have become a fixture of the city’s weekend rather than an occasional one-off. Doors are at 10pm and the night runs to 2.30am, which is at the late end for the city and a half hour past the usual 2am club close. Tickets started at €10 on early bird pricing and are sold through Eventbrite. The event is strictly over 18s and the organisers state that there are no refunds.
Abbeygate Street Upper runs off Shop Street in the pedestrianised centre of Galway, five minutes from Eyre Square and from Ceannt Station for trains and the Bus Eireann and Citylink coach stands. Driving in for a night that ends at 2.30am is impractical because the Corbett Court and Eyre Square multi-storeys close overnight. The taxi rank at Eyre Square is the closest, though queues build after 2am on a Saturday, and the city night bus services also run from the Square.
