Heated Rivalry Club vs Off Campus Club at Roisin Dubh

At Roisin Dubh · 9 Dominick Street Upper, Galway, Co. Galway

Club night crowd in hockey jerseys at Roisin Dubh in Galway

What to Expect

Two BookTok club nights are combined into one at Roisin Dubh, pitting Heated Rivalry against Off Campus. Both are hockey romance titles with large online followings, and the night is built for readers of them: the biggest moments and the most shared TikTok edits from the shows play on the big screen through the night while the DJs run soundtracks, pop hits and LGBTQ+ anthems. It is a themed club night rather than a book event, so the screen content sits behind a normal dancefloor.

Dressing up is part of it. The promoters ask for hockey jerseys, team colours or character inspired outfits, and the crowd tends to take that seriously. Doors are at 11pm in the main room at Roisin Dubh and tickets are €11 in advance through Eventbrite or the venue box office. Entry is over 18s and ID is required. Anyone with a birthday between 25 September and 9 October can claim free entry by emailing the promoter in advance with the subject line for the Galway date. Roisin Dubh’s Friday club slots sell ahead regularly, so advance tickets are the safer route.

Getting There

Roisin Dubh sits on Dominick Street Upper in Galway’s West End, over the Wolfe Tone Bridge from Shop Street and about ten minutes on foot from Eyre Square. Ceannt Station and the Fairgreen Road coach stands cover Irish Rail, Bus Eireann, Citylink and GoBus. Late night street parking in the West End is thin, so the Jurys and Dyke Road car parks are the usual answer, and there are taxi ranks on Dominick Street and at Eyre Square.
