At Factory · John Street, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Factory is the Causeway Group’s nightclub in Waterford city and the group bills it as Waterford’s number one nightclub. Its programme is built around DJs, local, national and international, alongside live bands, played through a dedicated sound and lighting rig rather than a pub PA. The bigger nights land on the weekend, and themed nights sit alongside the regular club programme, with recent examples running from around 10pm through to 2am.
The club sits in the John Street cluster, which is where most of Waterford city’s late bars and nightclubs are concentrated, so it works as the last stop on a night that starts elsewhere on the street. Line-ups and door times change from week to week and the club does not publish a fixed season schedule, so the specific DJ, the theme and the cover charge for any given Saturday are confirmed through Factory’s own booking channel and social pages rather than in advance. If you are planning a night around a particular act, check before you travel. Larger events and private bookings are handled through the Causeway Group office.
John Street runs south from the city centre, a five minute walk from the Quay and the Apple Market, and it is the main late-night street in Waterford. Most city bus routes stop on the Quay, which is the closest public transport point, and the Michael Street and City Square car parks are both a short walk away, though city centre parking is limited late at night. Taxi ranks operate on the Quay and at Broad Street, and the John Street venues are close enough together to move between on foot.
