Taylor's Bar Late Bar Weekends - Ennis

At Taylor's Bar · No. 5 Market Place, Ennis, Co. Clare

Late bar and weekend live music at Taylor's Bar, Market Place, Ennis

What to Expect

Taylor’s Bar sits at No. 5 Market Place in Ennis and opens from 5pm Wednesday to Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday, with the latest closing on Friday and Saturday nights. Weekend nights are when the music happens: live sessions showcasing local acts, in a room that fills up from the late-evening pub trade rather than emptying into a club. It works both as a starting point and as somewhere to finish, which is why it draws a mixed crowd rather than a single age group.

The bar keeps a beer garden for the summer and an open fire for the rest of the year, and it trades on its drinks range as much as its music: speciality gins and vodkas, a wine list, craft and mainstream beers, and pints of Guinness. It is a short walk from the Abbey Street cluster of late bars and the nightclub at the Queens Hotel, so it forms part of the same circuit on a Friday or Saturday. Taylor’s does not publish a fixed weekly music timetable, so the pub’s Facebook page is the place to check who is on and whether a cover charge applies on a given night.

Getting There

Market Place is in the centre of Ennis, a minute from O’Connell Square and a couple of minutes from Abbey Street. Ennis is on the M18 between Limerick and Galway, and the bus and rail station on Station Road is roughly a ten-minute walk. The Market car park is immediately beside the bar, with Friar’s Walk a short walk away. Late-night bus services out of Ennis are limited, so taxis on O’Connell Street are the usual option at closing time.
