Once a month the grounds of Tramore GAA Centre on the Old Crobally Road are given over to Tramore Community Market, a craft and artisan market that runs on the first Sunday of every month. Unlike the county’s weekly farmers markets, this one keeps a monthly rhythm all year round, which changes the character of it: traders treat it as a proper market day rather than a routine trading slot, and the stall count is usually higher than you would see at a weekly market of the same size.
The market carries a wide range of local food and craft products, from freshly baked goods through to handmade items made by producers and makers around the Tramore area. It is set up as a community market rather than a commercial one, so the emphasis is on small local traders selling their own work, and a fair share of the stalls are run by people doing it alongside another job. Because it is on GAA club grounds rather than in the town centre, there is space for parking and for children to move around while parents browse. Club fixtures occasionally affect access to the grounds, so it is worth checking the market’s social channels in the days before you travel.
Tramore GAA Centre is on the Old Crobally Road on the edge of Tramore, a short drive from the seafront and the main shopping streets and about 20 minutes from Waterford city on the R675. There is parking on site at the grounds, which is the main advantage of the venue over a town centre location. Bus Éireann route 360 runs frequently between Waterford city centre and Tramore, and the GAA centre is roughly a 15 minute walk uphill from the town centre stops.
