At Bundoran Retail Park · Station Road, Drumacrin, Bundoran, Co. Donegal
Bundoran Car Boot Sale and Country Market runs every Sunday from 8am to 3pm at Bundoran Retail Park on Station Road, behind the town’s Lidl. It is one of the largest weekly markets of its kind in Donegal, combining car boot pitches with a wider spread of stalls, covering second-hand household goods, tools, vintage and collectables, alongside a country market section selling local produce and crafts.
The seven-hour day is what sets it apart. Most Donegal markets run to a tight one or two hour window, whereas this one operates as a destination in its own right, pulling bargain hunters from across south Donegal and over the border into north Leitrim, Sligo and Fermanagh. Traders can book a table or a boot space in advance and new sellers are welcome, so the stall list changes week to week rather than settling into the same faces. The market is listed as a weekly year-round fixture rather than a summer-season one, which makes it one of the more dependable dates on the county’s market calendar.
Bundoran sits on the N15 in the far south of Donegal, close to the Leitrim and Sligo borders, and is served by Bus Eireann’s Sligo to Donegal Town route. The retail park is on Station Road on the edge of the town centre, with its own car park shared between the market and the retail units, so there is considerably more parking here than at Donegal’s town-centre street markets. Bundoran is one of the county’s main seaside resort towns, so a Sunday market visit pairs easily with the seafront walk, the Thrupenny Pool at Rougey, or the surf beaches at the west end of town.
