At Glaslough Village · Glaslough, Co. Monaghan
Glaslough Village Market takes over the centre of Glaslough on the last Saturday of every month, running 10am to 4pm. Monaghan Tourism lists it as a free outdoor market of food, crafts and variety stalls run by Glaslough Tidy Towns, with dates confirmed for 29 August, 26 September and 31 October 2026 and the series continuing monthly into 2027.
Stalls are laid out through the village centre from mid-morning, in the streets around the gates of Castle Leslie Estate. Traders book market by market rather than holding a permanent pitch, so the mix changes noticeably from one month to the next and regulars tend to check what is on before travelling any distance. The market is one of several projects Glaslough Tidy Towns runs through the year to keep the village active, and it doubles as a fundraiser for the group’s work. Six hours is a long trading day for a monthly village market, which gives the whole thing a relaxed, drop-in feel rather than the early morning rush of a weekly farmers market. Nothing needs to be booked and there is no charge to browse.
Glaslough is about 10km north-east of Monaghan town on the R185, also reachable from Emyvale to the north. There is no direct scheduled bus to the village, so a car is the practical option for most visitors. On-street parking is available around the compact village centre, and Castle Leslie Estate with its gardens and walking trails is right on the doorstep for anyone extending the visit into the afternoon. There is more to see in Glaslough and across Co. Monaghan.
