Clarinbridge Market Day 2026

At Clarinbridge Village Green · Clarinbridge, Co. Galway

Craft and food stalls on the village green at Clarinbridge Market Day

What to Expect

Clarinbridge Market Day takes over the village green on the first Saturday of September and this is its 34th year. The stalls run from midday to 6pm and the mix is weighted towards things made and grown locally: artisan food producers, handcrafted Irish goods and oyster tastings, which is fitting in a village whose name is tied to the Galway Bay oyster beds. Traditional music and dance run through the afternoon, and the working demonstrations are a genuine part of the day rather than a sideshow, with wool spinning and bread making both shown at the stalls.

The rest of the village fills up around the green. A Food Street brings together local food trucks, seafood chowder and Guinness, and the family side of the day covers a petting farm, face painting and games for children. Vintage farm machinery, classic cars and boats are parked through the village for anyone who prefers looking at engines to browsing stalls. The market was set up in 1993 by Father Hon Keogh to revive a village market tradition that goes back to 1820, and it still runs as a fundraiser, with the takings going to local charitable organisations and community groups.

Getting There

Clarinbridge is about 15 km south east of Galway city on the old Galway to Limerick road, with the M18 motorway running close by for anyone coming from Ennis or Limerick. The green is in the centre of the village, so once you are parked everything is within a short walk. Parking is on street and in the village car parks, and it fills from late morning on Market Day, so arriving before midday is the easier option.
