At The Haven Hotel · Dock Road, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford
The Sunday Craft Market takes over the grounds of the Haven Hotel on the Dock Road in Dunmore East every Sunday through the warmer half of the year. It is a craft market rather than a food market, built around local crafters, artists, designers and small independent businesses selling handmade crafts, artwork, gifts and locally produced items. The market closes from January to May and returns for the summer season, so the Sundays between now and the end of the year’s trading are the ones to catch.
Because the traders are makers rather than resellers, the stalls change as people come and go through the season, and much of what is on the tables is one-off or made in small runs. It draws a mix of Dunmore East residents, people down from Waterford city for the day and visitors staying in the village, and the long 11am to 5pm window means it works as an afternoon stop rather than a morning dash. The Haven Hotel sits above the harbour in the middle of the village, so the market is a two minute walk from the pier, the coves and the cliff path, and most people combine it with lunch or a walk rather than treating it as a shopping trip on its own.
Dunmore East is at the end of the R684, about 20 minutes by car from Waterford city and roughly 25 minutes from Tramore on the coast road. The Haven Hotel is on the Dock Road, on the hill above the fishing harbour and close to the village centre. There is parking at the harbour and along the village, though both fill up on fine summer Sundays, so arriving earlier in the window is easier. Bus Éireann route 351 links Waterford city with Dunmore East.
