At Garter Lane Studios · 5 O'Connell Street, Waterford City, Co. Waterford X91 ER27
Inspireland runs a Halloween art and animation camp at Garter Lane Studios over the October midterm, from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 October 2026. Sessions run 11am to 3pm each day and are taught by working artists and animators rather than general activity leaders. The four days cover character design, comics, mask making, sculpture and animation, with participants building monsters and Halloween characters and then bringing them to life on screen using industry techniques.
There are two separate camps running to the same schedule: one for children aged 8 to 12, and one for teenagers aged 13 to 18, each booked individually. Both cost €140 for the full four days. The studios are Waterford’s main arts workspace, attached to Garter Lane Arts Centre on O’Connell Street, which gives the camp proper studio facilities rather than a repurposed hall. Places are limited by studio capacity, so booking well ahead of midterm is sensible.
O’Connell Street runs parallel to the Quay in the centre of Waterford city, a couple of minutes on foot from the Clock Tower and John Roberts Square. Drivers coming in on the N25 should follow city centre signs and use the Quay, Bolton Street or City Square car parks, all within a short walk. For a drop-off and collection camp the Quay is usually the easiest option. Plunkett Station is across Rice Bridge on the north bank, roughly ten minutes away on foot, and city bus routes stop on the Quay.
