Waterford Sports Partnership runs the All Stars GAA Camp at Azzurri Walsh Park over three afternoons, from Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 August 2026. Each day runs from 12.30pm to 2pm. The camp is specifically for teenagers aged 13 to 18 with a disability, a group that is often left without an obvious option once the general summer camps age out or pitch themselves at younger children.
The programme covers Gaelic football and hurling skills through coached drills, small-sided games and team challenges. Coaches work at whatever level each participant is at, and the emphasis is on taking part and building confidence rather than on competition. Running it at Walsh Park, the county ground on Keane’s Road, gives the camp a proper pitch and dressing rooms rather than a borrowed field. Waterford Sports Partnership was set up in 2002 by Sport Ireland to increase participation in sport across the county, and inclusive programming is handled by its Sports Inclusion Development Officer, Pauline Casey, who can be reached on 086 7837385 or at pcasey@waterfordsportspartnership.ie. The fee is €15 per person for the full three days and places are booked through Eventbrite. Participants should bring a gum shield, a water bottle, boots and weather-appropriate gear.
Walsh Park is on Keane’s Road on the southern side of Waterford city, about a fifteen-minute walk from the Quay and five minutes by car from the city centre. Local city bus routes serve the Ballybricken and Keane’s Road area. Drivers coming in on the N25 should follow signs for the city centre and then for Slievekeale Road and Keane’s Road. There is parking at the ground and on-street parking in the surrounding streets, though the roads immediately around the stadium are tight. Drop-off and collection are straightforward outside match days.
