Cookstown Halloween 2026

At Mid Ulster Sports Arena · Fountain Road, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone

Families in Halloween costume at an outdoor council Halloween event

What to Expect

Cookstown Halloween returns on Saturday 24 October 2026, staged by Mid Ulster District Council at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena. It is the first of the council’s four Halloween nights across the district that autumn, ahead of Dungannon on 30 October and Coalisland and Maghera on 31 October, and like all of them it is free to attend.

The council has confirmed the date and venue but has not yet published the running order, start time or full programme, with the listing noting that more details are to follow. In practice these Mid Ulster Halloween nights are large outdoor family events built around costume, entertainment and fireworks, and the Sports Arena site gives Cookstown the space for a big crowd and a proper display. Anyone planning around it should watch the council events page or sign up to its mailing list for the timings when they are released.

Good to Know

  • Date: Saturday 24 October 2026

  • Start time and full programme are still to be confirmed by the council
  • Check midulstercouncil.org or the council mailing list closer to the date

Getting There

The Mid Ulster Sports Arena is on the Fountain Road on the edge of Cookstown, a short distance from the town centre. Cookstown is on the A29 between Dungannon and Magherafelt and the A505 from Omagh, roughly 45 miles from Belfast, 20 from Dungannon and 30 from Omagh. There is parking at the arena, but a free town-wide Halloween event fills it quickly, so arriving early or parking in the town centre and walking out is usually the better plan. Ulsterbus routes serve Cookstown from Belfast, Dungannon, Magherafelt, Omagh and Coalisland, though evening services are limited.
