At Tullamore Food Fayre, Kilcruttin Business Park · Kilcruttin Business Park, off Spollanstown Road, Tullamore, Co. Offaly
Tullamore Food Fayre opens every Saturday from 10am to 2pm at Kilcruttin Business Park, just off the Spollanstown Road on the edge of town. It grew out of a food market set up in 2014 by the Offaly Delicious Food Network and has run under its own name ever since, giving Tullamore a weekly source of local produce rather than an occasional one-off fair. The market is indoors, so it runs whatever the weather is doing, and there is free parking on site along with an indoor cafe area and outdoor seating if you want to eat something before heading off.
The stalls are food first. Expect fresh local produce, meat and dairy from animals raised in space and freedom, baked goods, coffee, juices and other artisan foods, sold by the people who made or grew them. On the first Saturday of each month the food traders are joined by local crafters and artists selling handmade pieces, which turns the same trip into gift shopping as well as a grocery run. Entry is free and there is no set route around the room, so it works as a ten-minute stop for bread and vegetables or a slow browse over a coffee.
Kilcruttin Business Park is a short drive from Tullamore town centre and is signposted off the Spollanstown Road. Free on-site parking makes it an easy stop if you are already driving into town on a Saturday morning. Tullamore is reached on the N52 from Mullingar and Birr, the N80 from Portlaoise, and Exit 5 of the M6 from Dublin or Galway. Tullamore railway station is on the Dublin Heuston to Galway line, and the market is a short walk or taxi ride from the town centre.
