Secret Valley Wildlife Park, Clonroche

At Secret Valley Wildlife Park · Coolnacon, Clonroche, Co. Wexford, Y21 DF85

Children looking at animals at a Wexford wildlife park

What to Expect

Secret Valley Wildlife Park sits at Coolnacon near Clonroche, in the middle of County Wexford between Enniscorthy and New Ross, and it opens seven days a week from 9am to 5.30pm. It is one of the county’s main all-day family attractions outside the coastal towns, built around animal enclosures, walks and play areas.

The park’s seasonal programme is worth planning around. In October it runs a daytime Halloween festival with pumpkin picking, aimed squarely at families with younger children, and bookings for the 2026 edition are already open through the park’s own booking system. Separately, and very much not for small children, the park hosts Cornmaze Massacre after dark, an adult scare attraction with immersive scare zones and live actors, which runs on its own site and its own ticketing.

Opening hours tighten as the season turns. Through September the park runs 9.30am to 5.30pm daily, and in October it moves to 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday before closing for the winter on 1 November. Halloween dates tend to sell out, so book rather than turning up.

Getting There

Secret Valley is at Coolnacon, Clonroche, on the R731 corridor between Enniscorthy and New Ross, roughly twenty five minutes’ drive from either town and around thirty five minutes from Wexford town. Drivers should use the Y21 DF85 eircode rather than the townland name, as the approach is on local roads. There is parking on site. There is no useful public transport to the gate, so a car is effectively required. Much of the site is outdoors on grass and gravel paths, so boots or wellingtons are the sensible choice outside high summer.
