What to Expect

Wine Decoded is a four-week wine course running in Dundalk from the start of September 2026, and it comes in two strands rather than one. Reserve starts on Tuesday 1 September at 6.30pm and runs two and a half hours a session. Foundations starts the following evening, Wednesday 2 September, also at 6.30pm, over two hours a session. The content covers tasting technique, food and wine pairing and how to read what is in the glass, taught as hands-on sessions with wine poured throughout rather than as a lecture series. The organisers pitch it at complete beginners as well as at people who already drink wine but want to know why a pairing works. Getting There

Both strands run in Dundalk town centre, which is walkable from Clarke Station on the Dublin to Belfast line and from the Bus Eireann stops on Long Walk. Coming by car from the M1, exit at junction 16 or 18. Public parking is available at the Marshes Shopping Centre and on Crowe Street, both a few minutes from the Market Square, though evening restrictions vary. Given that the course involves tasting across four sessions, public transport or a lift is the better arrangement.
