Getting There

Carlingford sits on the R173 coast road on the Cooley Peninsula, roughly 20km from Dundalk and about the same from Newry. From the M1, leave at the Dundalk junctions and follow the R173 east through Ballymascanlon and Riverstown. Newry Street runs through the centre of the village, and the public car parks at the harbour and the village green are the closest options, both a few minutes’ walk away. Dundalk Clarke is the nearest railway station, with bus links out to the peninsula.
