Back to School Storytime at Drogheda Library

At Drogheda Library · Stockwell Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth

Children listening to a storytime session at Drogheda Library

What to Expect

Drogheda Library reads a set of back to school stories for children aged 4 to 8 on the Thursday afternoon before the new term. It is open to all, no booking is required, and it starts at 3:30 PM.

Storytimes on this theme tend to work on two levels: they are an afternoon out, and they give children starting or returning to school a way of talking about it before the day arrives. Louth Libraries run a run of back to school programming in the last two weeks of August across the Drogheda, Dundalk, Ardee and Dunleer branches, including the Little Library Book Bag sessions with the Mobile Music School for children starting school in September. Library membership is free, so families can borrow the picture books afterwards, and the children’s section at Drogheda is set up for reading in place as well.
