Tuesday Afternoon Film Screenings at Ardee Library

At Ardee Library · Ardee, Co. Louth

Children watching a film screening at Ardee Library

What to Expect

Ardee Library screens a family film every Tuesday afternoon at 2:15 PM. There is no booking and no charge, so families can turn up on the day and take a seat. The titles run to well-chosen children’s and family cinema rather than the current multiplex release.

The August run has taken in Kensuke’s Kingdom and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with The Secret of Kells screening on Tuesday 18 August and Matilda on Tuesday 25 August. The Secret of Kells is the Cartoon Saloon animation nominated for an Academy Award, set around the making of the Book of Kells at the abbey a short drive west of Ardee, which gives it a local hook worth mentioning to children on the way in. Contact the branch before travelling to confirm the title for a given week, as the schedule is set term by term.
