Haunted Heartlands brings its podcast into a room for a live recording at Edward J. Valentine’s on Main Street in Longford Town on Friday 23 October 2026. The format is storytelling and conversation with guest speakers rather than a scripted show, and the subject is Samhain as it was actually kept in this part of the country: local customs, forgotten traditions and the chilling tales handed down through generations in Longford, Westmeath and the wider Heartlands.

Longford is on the N4 between Dublin and Sligo, about two hours from Dublin by car. Irish Rail serves Longford station on the Dublin Connolly to Sligo line, and the station is roughly ten minutes on foot from Main Street. Bus Eireann route 23 and the Dublin to Sligo coach services also stop in the town. Public parking is available at the Market Square and Mall car parks, both within a few minutes’ walk.
