At Kinnegar Brewing K2 Taproom · K2, Ballyraine Industrial Estate, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
Kinnegar Brewing’s taproom at its K2 site opens Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 1pm to 7pm. The brewery describes the room as a window onto the working brewery, and that is literal: the bar sits alongside the production floor, pouring the full rotating range plus taproom-only beers that do not reach the shops. The Dirty Souls food truck serves American BBQ throughout taproom hours, and other vendors including The Napoli Express, Pie in the Sky and Mamma Mia Gelatos appear for bigger event days.
Brewery tours run alongside the bar. The Intro Tour is a free five-minute on-screen overview with staff on hand afterwards for questions, walk-up only with no booking needed. The Advanced Tour runs about 45 minutes through the malt loft, brew house, fermentation and conditioning cellar, with raw ingredients to handle and a complimentary draught beer at the end. The Deep Dive Tour runs 90 minutes with more samples and time with the production team. Both paid tours are booked online through the Kinnegar shop.
One date to plan around: the taproom and the brewery close for their annual break from Sunday 13 September to Sunday 20 September 2026, reopening the following week. Kinnegar also builds larger seasonal nights around the regular schedule, including an Oktoberfest and a Winterland Market, plus games evenings and live music with local partners, so it is worth checking the events page before an autumn visit.
Ballyraine Industrial Estate is a short drive from Letterkenny town centre, with parking on site. Letterkenny is served by Bus Eireann routes from Dublin, Sligo and Derry, and by Local Link services across the county, with the bus centre a short taxi ride from K2. Given the taproom’s evening finish, a taxi back into town is the sensible plan.
