What to Expect

Phonics with Robot Reg takes over the Moat Theatre in Naas every Tuesday morning from 8 September to 27 October 2026, an eight-week block of baby and toddler classes running from 10am. This is a class series rather than a show, and you book the term rather than the individual week.

Each session mixes three things: music and movement, stories and phonics, and sensory play and discovery. The idea is that very young children pick up early communication and sound recognition through play instead of drill, and that they build confidence in a group setting before school. The Moat is a comfortable venue for it, with room for buggies and a floor space that suits crawlers as much as toddlers on their feet. Robot Reg classes run in a number of other Kildare locations too, including Kildare Town and Rathangan, so if the Naas Tuesday slot does not suit, the same programme runs elsewhere in the county on other days.

Getting There

The Moat Theatre is on Abbey Road in the centre of Naas, a couple of minutes on foot from the Main Street and the Town Hall. Naas is off junction 9 or junction 10 of the M7, roughly 35 minutes from Dublin outside peak hours. There is public parking at the Moat and in the town centre car parks nearby, though Tuesday mornings are a working day so arriving a little early helps. Sallins and Naas railway station, on the Dublin Heuston to Cork and Kildare lines, is about 4km west of the town centre with a local bus and taxi link. Bus Eireann and Go-Ahead services run to Naas from Dublin and from Newbridge.
