At The Moat Theatre · Abbey Road, Naas, Co. Kildare
Jackula takes the Moat Theatre stage in Naas on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 1pm, an 80 minute Halloween show for children aged 4 to 12 that lands right in the middle of the midterm break.
The conceit is simple and it works: Jackula is Dracula’s younger brother, and he has no interest in being frightening. He wants to be a fun vampire instead. What follows is a variety show built around magic tricks, juggling and acrobatic feats, including a glass-balancing routine, with the audience pulled in to dance and to help with the magic. Children get treats at the end and a chance to perform tricks of their own once the show wraps. Jeff Keough writes and performs it, drawing on more than 25 years as a professional performer including a spell with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey’s circus. Reviews quoted by the theatre call it guaranteed family fun. Ticket prices had not been published at the time of writing, and the theatre is running a sign-up list for when they go on sale.
The Moat Theatre is on Abbey Road in the centre of Naas, a few minutes on foot from the Main Street. From the M7 take junction 9 or junction 10 and follow the town centre signs. There is parking at the Moat and in the town centre car parks; a midterm weekday afternoon is usually manageable, though the town is busier than a normal school day. The nearest railway station is Sallins and Naas, roughly 4km west on the Dublin Heuston to Kildare and Cork line, with taxis and local buses into the centre. Buses also connect Naas with Dublin, Newbridge and Kilcullen.
