Champions Table is a one-night dinner at the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge on Saturday 26 September 2026, running from 7pm to 10pm. It pairs a six course tasting menu built on local produce with conversation from two people who know Irish racing from the inside.
The evening opens with a garden drinks reception on the hotel lawns, then moves to a single long table for dinner. Former champion jockey Fran Berry and racing broadcaster Kevin O’Ryan talk through the Curragh’s place as a training ground and the stories, people and place behind Irish racing at the top level, in a conversation format rather than after-dinner speeches. The setting has its own claim on the subject: the Keadeen occupies what was the residence of the trainer Darkie Prendergast, and the Curragh is a few minutes up the road. At €130 a head this is a proper occasion rather than a casual dinner out, and the long table format means a fixed seating plan and a capped number.
The Keadeen Hotel is at Ballymany on the Curragh side of Newbridge, a short distance off the M7. From Dublin or Limerick, leave the motorway at junction 12 for Newbridge and follow signs for the town and the hotel; parking is available on site. Newbridge railway station, about 2km away, is on the Dublin Heuston line towards Kildare, Cork and Limerick, and Saturday evening services run reasonably late, though a taxi covers the last leg from the station. With a drinks reception and a tasting menu on the card, arranging a taxi or staying over is the practical approach.
