What to Expect

Ballymore Art Studio is running two three-day art camps in Ballymore Eustace this August, split by age group. The first, for children aged 4 to 8, runs Tuesday 11 August to Thursday 13 August. The second, a summer art workshop for ages 8 and over, runs Tuesday 18 August to Thursday 20 August. Both run from 11am to 2pm each day, so this is a morning-into-early-afternoon commitment rather than a full working-day camp.

The studio describes the programme as three days of exploring various art mediums, with campers moving through a range of projects and materials rather than repeating the same exercise. The younger camp is pitched at building early artistic skills in a fun and engaging environment. The 8-plus workshop gives more room to children who already draw and paint at home and want to take it further, with the studio describing it as a supportive setting for emerging young artists. Places are limited by the size of the studio, and booking is handled directly by the studio rather than through a ticketing platform.

Getting There

Ballymore Eustace sits in the south east corner of County Kildare, close to the Wicklow border and the Poulaphouca reservoir, and is reached on the R411. It is roughly 20 minutes by road from Naas and around 25 minutes from Blessington, with Kilcullen and Two Mile House the nearest villages on the Kildare side. On-street parking is available in the village. There is no rail station in Ballymore Eustace, so almost everyone arrives by car; the nearest stations are at Sallins and Naas and at Newbridge, both a drive away.
