At RDS - Royal Dublin Society · Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Megacon Live Dublin sets up in Hall 8C at the RDS in Ballsbridge for a weekend of comics, cosplay and pop culture from Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 January 2027. The convention joins a growing list of fan events that have made the RDS a regular home for Dublin’s comic and gaming community, giving fans another date on the calendar alongside the likes of AnimeCon and Comic-Con Ireland.
Expect the usual convention mix: trader stalls selling comics, collectibles, prints and merchandise, cosplay from attendees dressed as favourite characters, and a hall busy with fans of comics, film, television and gaming culture. Conventions of this type typically run photo areas, artist tables and themed activities across the weekend, though the specific guest line-up and activity schedule for this edition had not been published at the time of writing. Families with older children who are into comics, anime or gaming tend to find plenty to hold their attention across a full day at events like this.
The RDS showgrounds are on Merrion Road in Ballsbridge, close to Sandymount and within easy reach of the city centre. Dublin Bus routes along Merrion Road stop right outside, and the DART station at Sandymount is a short walk away. On-site parking is available for ticketed RDS events, but arriving by public transport is the safer bet on a busy convention weekend when car parks fill early.
Ballsbridge has plenty to fill the rest of a January weekend, from Herbert Park’s paths for a walk to clear the head between convention sessions, to the cafes and restaurants clustered around the RDS and Lansdowne Road. It is also an easy hop into the city centre by bus or DART for anyone who wants to extend the day. For more on what else is happening across the county this winter, see Co. Dublin.
