At RDS · Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
AnimeCon makes its Dublin debut at the RDS on 17 and 18 October, bringing more than 100 artists and vendors together with cosplay, panels and live entertainment. It suits anime and manga fans of any age, along with families looking for a day out built around cosplay, gaming and fan culture rather than the usual shopping centre trip.
The convention runs across a full weekend with a dedicated Performance Stage hosting karaoke, Random Play Dance and live shows, plus autograph and photo sessions with voice actor guests, workshops on character drawing and cosplay prop making, and a trading floor of over 100 independent artists and vendors. Saturday night carries on with an after party from 6:30pm to 9:30pm for ticket holders who want to keep the day going.
The RDS is on Merrion Road in Ballsbridge, about 2km south of the city centre. Lansdowne Road DART station is a five minute walk from the main entrance, and Dublin Bus routes 4 and 7 run directly from the city centre. On site parking is available but fills up on busy weekend mornings, so the DART is the more reliable option.
Ballsbridge has plenty of cafes and restaurants around Merrion Road for refuelling between sessions, and the Dodder riverbank makes for a quiet walk if the halls get too busy. There is more to see in Co. Dublin.
