At Ardgillan Castle, The Gallery · Balbriggan, Co. Dublin
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Through Our Senses runs in the Gallery at Ardgillan Castle from 4 to 25 October 2026, bringing together work by four artists, Aoibheann Brennan, Tina Poole, Antonio D’Souza and Gracie Hawkins, exploring how neurodivergent people experience and interpret the world. The exhibition mixes tactile and non-tactile pieces across sculpture, texture, colour, sound and visual storytelling, aimed at giving neurotypical visitors a way into perspectives that are often overlooked.
A small group show rather than a single-artist retrospective, designed to be explored at a visitor’s own pace, with several pieces meant to be touched rather than only viewed. It suits anyone with an interest in disability arts, sensory experience or contemporary craft, and works well as a shorter add-on to a wider visit to the castle and grounds. The four artists work across different media, so expect a varied visit rather than a single consistent style running through the room.
Ardgillan Castle is a short drive from Balbriggan or Skerries, with parking on site. There is no direct bus route to the demesne gates, so it is best reached by car.
The Ardgillan Gallery runs a rolling programme of exhibitions and workshops through the year, alongside the castle’s walled garden, coastal trails and Ardgillan parkrun on Saturday mornings. Fingal County Council also runs a studio award scheme for local artists and craftspeople through the castle, so the Gallery’s programme changes regularly.
