Hallowween in Newcastle 2026

At Newcastle Centre and Promenade · Newcastle Promenade, Newcastle, Co. Down, BT33 0AA

Halloween decorations along a seaside promenade

Newcastle Chamber of Commerce and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council mark Halloween in Newcastle on Saturday 31 October 2026, centred on the town’s promenade and centre. The county tourism board’s own listing confirms the date as part of the town’s annual calendar, though the detailed programme had not been published at the time of writing.

What to expect

Newcastle’s Halloween date is organised jointly by the town’s Chamber of Commerce and the district council, the same pairing behind other seasonal dates on the town’s calendar such as its summer bank holiday events. Full programme details, including timings and specific activities, are marked as still to be confirmed on the council’s own tourism listing, so anyone planning to attend should check the Visit Mourne Gullion Strangford website closer to the date for the finished schedule. The promenade setting, directly under Slieve Donard and the wider Mourne Mountains, gives the town a distinctive backdrop for an evening out whatever the final line-up turns out to be, and the Tropicana outdoor pool and Donard Park sit right alongside the promenade if arriving with time to fill beforehand.

Getting there

Newcastle Promenade runs along the seafront in the centre of town, a short walk from the main shopping streets and the Donard Park car park. Newcastle is on the A2 coast road, with regular bus services from Belfast, and there is pay-and-display parking along and near the promenade.

While you’re in Newcastle

Newcastle sits where the Mourne Mountains sweep down to meet the sea, with Slieve Donard, the highest peak in Northern Ireland, rising directly behind the town, and Royal County Down’s links course along the shore to the south. There is more to see in Newcastle and across Co. Down.
