What to Expect

Myshall Community Centre closes out Heritage Week with a two-hour family morning that pairs old-fashioned outdoor games with a photo orienteering course through the village. Children play the traditional games first, then take a map and a set of photo clues and go looking for heritage sites around Myshall, photographing proof at each one as they go.

There is a reward at the end rather than just a finish line: complete the course, get it signed off by the event team, and you collect a free goody bag. Active Carlow runs it in partnership with the Carlow Heritage Office, so the sport side and the heritage side are both properly staffed rather than left as a self-guided handout. It is free, car parking is available at the community centre, and the listing flags it as family-friendly. Advance booking is essential, with free tickets released through a QR code on the event poster.

Getting There

Myshall is a village in the southeast of the county at the foot of Mount Leinster, roughly 15km from both Carlow Town and Bagenalstown and about 10km from Borris. The community centre is on the L3033 in the village with its own car park. There is no useful public transport to Myshall on a Sunday, so drive or arrange a lift. The R724 from Tullow and the R727 from Bagenalstown are the main approaches.
