At Bunclody Library · Ryland Road, Bunclody, Co. Wexford
Bunclody Library runs a young adult book club for readers aged 13 to 15, meeting on the first Friday of every month at 4.15pm at the library on Ryland Road. It is free and no booking is required. The next meeting in the autumn term is Friday 4 September 2026.
A teen reading group in a town the size of Bunclody works differently from one in Wexford or Gorey. Numbers are smaller, most of the members know each other from school, and the session tends to run closer to a conversation among friends than a structured club. The library provides the space, the titles and the staff time, and the group decides what it wants to read. Coming along without having finished the current book is not a problem.
The 4.15pm start is late enough to allow for the school day and the journey home for teenagers coming in from the surrounding countryside. Readers younger than thirteen can join Just Read!, the branch’s book club for ages 9 to 12, which meets on the third Saturday of the month at 2.30pm. Bunclody also runs a toddler rhyme time on Wednesday mornings, so the branch covers a wide age spread for a small library.
Bunclody Library is on Ryland Road in the middle of Bunclody, close to the Mall, in the north west of County Wexford near the Carlow and Wicklow borders. Drivers from Enniscorthy follow the N80 north, and the same road brings you south east from Carlow town. There is on-street parking on Ryland Road and around the Mall and square. Bus Eireann route 132 on the Dublin to Wexford corridor stops in Bunclody, and local link services run to Enniscorthy. The nearest railway station is Enniscorthy, on the Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort line, roughly twenty five kilometres to the south.
