At Bunclody Library · Ryland Road, Bunclody, Co. Wexford
Just Read! is Bunclody Library’s book club for readers aged 9 to 12. It meets on the third Saturday of every month at 2.30pm at the library on Ryland Road, it is free, and no booking is required. The next meeting in the autumn term is Saturday 19 September 2026.
The Saturday afternoon slot sets this group apart from most of the county’s children’s book clubs, which run straight after school on weekdays. A weekend meeting suits families in the Bunclody and Kilmyshall area who are driving in anyway, and it means children whose after-school hours are taken up with training or lessons are not shut out. The format is the usual library one: staff run the session, the group talks about what it has been reading, members suggest what to read next, and nobody is quizzed on whether they finished.
Bunclody is one of the smaller branches in the Wexford library network, which tends to make its groups more informal than the town branches. Alongside Just Read!, the branch runs a toddler rhyme time on Wednesday mornings and a young adult book club for ages 13 to 15 on the first Friday of the month, so there is provision from toddlers up through the teens in the one building.
Bunclody Library is on Ryland Road in the centre of Bunclody, close to the Mall and the square, in the north west corner of the county where Wexford meets Carlow and Wicklow. Drivers from Enniscorthy take the N80 north, and from Carlow the same road runs south east into the town. There is on-street parking on Ryland Road and around the Mall. Bus Eireann route 132 between Dublin and Wexford serves Bunclody, and local link services connect the town with Enniscorthy. There is no railway station in Bunclody, so the nearest rail connection is Enniscorthy, about twenty five kilometres away.
