At Lisdoonvarna Pavilion Astroturf · Lisdoonvarna Pavilion, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare
Wild Atlantic Bootcamp is a free, weekly outdoor fitness session run by Clare Sports Partnership on the astroturf pitch at Lisdoonvarna Pavilion. Aimed at anyone aged 16 and over regardless of current fitness level, each hour-long class mixes strength work, cardio intervals, team-based drills and functional exercises - the kind of session built around bodyweight moves and short, sharp efforts rather than gym machines. It is coached rather than self-directed, with an instructor leading the group through a structured hour, and the emphasis throughout is on building fitness in a supportive, community setting rather than competing against the clock. Local Sports Partnerships across Ireland run bootcamp-style programmes like this one specifically to get people who might not otherwise join a gym or club moving regularly, and the format, free, outdoors, and social, is designed to lower the barrier to turning up. The six-week block runs from 23 July to 27 August 2026, so only the closing sessions of the run remain.
Lisdoonvarna Pavilion is on the edge of Lisdoonvarna village in north Clare, close to the town’s main street and within walking distance of village parking. The astroturf pitch is at the rear of the pavilion grounds.
