What were you thinking of darling? is a seven-week collage workshop series at Laois Arthouse in Stradbally, running on Mondays from 7 September to 19 October 2026, from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
Resident artist Lia Laimböck leads the series, in which participants create two related fabric collage works built around the workshop’s title prompt. Each person builds a portrait in collage, then develops a connected second piece depicting the subject’s thoughts. Places are limited to eight, so the group works closely with Laimböck across the seven weeks rather than in a large class, with enough time in each two-hour session to develop the collage technique properly rather than rush it. The series concludes with an exhibition on 19 October, when invited family and friends are welcome to see the finished work, with refreshments provided on the day.

Stradbally is a small Laois market town that is quiet for most of the year, aside from one weekend every September when Electric Picnic takes over the 600 acre Stradbally Hall estate. Laois Arthouse sits at the centre of the town on Court Square, in the same buildings visitors pass on the way to the main street. There is more to see in Stradbally and across Laois.
