Wexford Senior Football Championship - Round 4

What to Expect

Round 4 of the Dominic Smith Expert Electrical Senior Football Championship runs on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August 2026, headed by a Saturday triple header at McCauley Park Bellefield near Enniscorthy. The senior football championship is contested by 12 clubs in two groups, with the top four in each group going through to the quarter-finals and the bottom side in each meeting in a relegation play-off. Round 4 is the point where the qualification picture stops being theoretical, and the county board’s own championship bulletins have been tracking the scrap for knockout places since the opening round.

Friday evening opens with Castletown against HWH Bunclody in Group A at McCauley Park Bellefield at 7:30pm. Saturday brings St Mogue’s Fethard against Gusserane-O’Rahilly’s in Group B at O’Kennedy Park in New Ross at 3:45pm, then two more Group A games back at Bellefield: Naomh Éanna against St Martin’s at 4:00pm and Na Sairséalaigh against Kilanerin at 5:45pm. Playing three senior ties at one venue on the same afternoon means a full day’s football for anyone who wants it, with the gate covering the sequence. Wexford GAA publishes confirmed throw-in times, referee appointments and any venue switches on its fixtures portal, which is worth a look on the morning of the game.

Getting There

McCauley Park Bellefield is on the Enniscorthy side of the county, close to the M11 and a short drive from Enniscorthy town centre, with parking on site that fills quickly for a triple header. O’Kennedy Park is in New Ross, off the N25 and within walking distance of the town centre and the Dunbrody Famine Ship quayside. Enniscorthy has a railway station on the Dublin to Rosslare line, but there is no direct public transport to either ground, so a car is the usual way in.
