Irish Language Conversation Circles at Wexford Libraries

Wexford County Council’s library service runs free Irish language conversation groups for adults across several branches. These are not classes with a syllabus and homework. They are an hour of informal chat as Gaeilge, and every level of Irish is welcome, from people who have kept it up since school to those who have not used a word of it in thirty years.
Ciorcal Comhra at Gorey Library meets on the first Tuesday evening of every month from 7pm to 8pm, so the next one falls on Tuesday 1 September 2026. New Ross Library runs Grupa Comhra Gaeilge, an Irish conversation group for adults of all levels, on the same evening from 7pm to 8pm, with booking required and around 25 places. Wexford Town Library holds an Irish conversation session on Friday afternoons from 4pm to 5pm, facilitated by Cory O Brollachain, and Gorey also lists a Saturday morning session from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Separately, Red Books in Wexford Town runs a morning cafe as Gaeilge at 11am on Mondays and a conversation session at 11am on Wednesdays.
All library sessions are free. Some need to be booked through the library service’s online calendar, which lists the current dates and remaining places for each branch, so check there before travelling.
Gorey Library is in the centre of Gorey, a short walk from Main Street and the town’s car parks, and Gorey is straight off the M11 between Dublin and Wexford with a railway station on the Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort line. New Ross Library is on Barrack Lane in the town centre, reached on the N25 and N30. Wexford Town Library is on Mallin Street at Redmond Square, beside the railway station and the bus stops on the quays.
