Wexford Intermediate Football Championship - Round 4

What to Expect

Round 4 of the Amber Springs and Ashdown Park Hotels Intermediate Football Championship runs across five club grounds on Saturday 15 August 2026, with throw-ins from 2:00pm through to 6:00pm. The intermediate grade sits directly below the Dominic Smith senior championship in Wexford’s football ladder, and it is usually the most volatile competition in the county: the winners go up to senior, the bottom sides go down to junior, and by round 4 of a group stage most clubs know exactly what a result is worth. Several of the clubs in this year’s competition have senior pedigree they are trying to recover.

The confirmed round 4 fixtures are Clongeen against Taghmon-Camross at Cushinstown and Horeswood against St Abban’s Adamstown at O’Kennedy Park in New Ross, both at 2:00pm, followed at 6:00pm by Rathgarogue-Cushinstown against St Anne’s Rathangan at Taghmon, Ballyhogue against St Fintan’s at Killurin, and Ferns St Aidan’s against Cloughbawn at Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park in Enniscorthy. Group A and Group B games are spread across the same afternoon, so results elsewhere matter to teams already finished. Wexford GAA publishes confirmed times, any late venue switches and referee appointments on its fixtures portal, and club grounds occasionally change at short notice.

• Admission is charged at the gate for adult club championship games. Prices are set by Wexford GAA and are payable in cash or card depending on the venue

• Later rounds and the knockout stages follow through late August and September

Getting There

The five venues are spread the length of the county. Cushinstown and O’Kennedy Park are in the New Ross area off the N25, Taghmon and Killurin lie between Wexford town and Enniscorthy off the N25 and R730, and Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park is on the edge of Enniscorthy, close to the M11. All have on site or roadside parking, but club grounds fill up quickly, so arriving 20 minutes early is worthwhile. There is no public transport to most rural club pitches, so travel by car.
