What to Expect

The Whizzy Internet Intermediate A Football Championship reaches round 4 over the weekend of Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August 2026, with four fixtures spread across three venues. Intermediate A sits between the intermediate and junior grades in Wexford’s football structure, so the clubs involved are mostly single parish sides working with a small playing pool. Group placings by round 4 usually decide who is chasing promotion and who is looking over their shoulder at the relegation slot, which sharpens games that can otherwise be low key midweek affairs.

Friday night opens the round with Oylegate-Glenbrien against Buffers Alley at Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park in Enniscorthy at 7:30pm. Saturday brings Monageer-Boolavogue against Glynn-Barntown at the same Enniscorthy ground at 2:00pm, Kilrush against Duffry Rovers at Bunclody at 6:00pm, and Fr O’Regan’s Craanford against CLG Naomh Pádraig at Pairc Si Siochain at 7:00pm. Group A and Group B games run alongside each other, so several tables move at once. Confirmed throw-in times, venue changes and results are posted on the Wexford GAA fixtures portal, which is the place to check on the day. Club grounds in Wexford are working pitches rather than stadiums, so expect a low wall, a stand of a few rows and a gate collection.

Getting There

Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park is on the edge of Enniscorthy, a few minutes from the M11 and walkable from the town centre. Bunclody sits on the N80 in the north west of the county at the foot of the Blackstairs, and Pairc Si Siochain at Craanford is in north Wexford, signposted off the R748 between Gorey and Ferns. Parking at all three is on site or on the roadside and fills up before throw-in. There is little public transport to rural pitches, so a car is the practical option.
