What to Expect

Wexford FC close out their scheduled home programme for 2026 against UCD AFC at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday 16 October, kick-off 7:45pm. It is the last league fixture on the club’s published home calendar, which normally makes it the night for end of season awards, squad acknowledgements and a fuller than usual crowd, whatever the table looks like by then. Wexford were sixth in the First Division on 34 points when the fixture list was published, and a final home game in mid October can still carry play-off consequences either way.

UCD AFC are the students’ club, based at the UCD Bowl in Belfield and unusual in Irish football for fielding an almost entirely young, home developed squad that turns over every couple of seasons. They played Wexford at Belfield in early August, so this is the return leg. Ferrycarrig Park itself is a modest, compact venue on the Enniscorthy side of Wexford town, with a single covered stand and standing space along the touchline, which keeps supporters close to the play. Kick-off times and dates in the League of Ireland do shift for broadcast and scheduling reasons, and Wexford FC note that all published fixtures are subject to change, so it is worth checking before setting out.
