Wexford County Council Monthly Meeting

At Council Chamber, County Hall · County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford Town, Co. Wexford

Council chamber at County Hall, Wexford

What to Expect

Wexford County Council’s ordinary meeting is the monthly session where the county’s elected members take the decisions that shape roads, housing, planning policy, waste, libraries and the annual budget. It is where the Chief Executive’s monthly report is tabled, where notices of motion from individual councillors are debated, and where statutory items such as development plan variations, disposals of council land and the adoption of policies are formally voted on. Members represent the five municipal districts of the county: the Borough District of Wexford, Enniscorthy, Gorey-Kilmuckridge, New Ross and Rosslare.

Ordinary meetings are held in the afternoon on the second Monday of every month except August, in the Council Chamber at County Hall, Carricklawn. That puts the next meetings on Monday 14 September, Monday 12 October and Monday 9 November 2026. Special meetings, including special planning meetings, are called separately through the year and are advertised on the council’s website. Agendas, reports and the minutes of previous meetings are published on the council’s meetings page, so it is worth reading the agenda in advance if you are attending for one specific item.
