At GAA club grounds across County Wexford · Club grounds countywide, Co. Wexford
Wexford’s club football championships reach Round 4 of the group stage on the weekend of 15 and 16 August 2026, with games at club grounds the length of the county. Three rounds were complete by the time the county board published its Championship Bulletin #8 on 12 August, which flagged Round 4 for the coming weekend. The senior grade is the Dominic Smith Senior Football Championship, run as two groups with clubs including Crossabeg-Ballymurn, Gusserane, St. James’, Glynn-Barntown, Shelmaliers, Fethard, HWH-Bunclody, St. Martin’s, Castletown, Sarsfields, Naomh Éanna and Kilanerin. The intermediate championship runs alongside it with clubs including St. Fintan’s, Cloughbawn, Ferns, Adamstown, Ballyhogue, Horeswood, Clongeen, St. Anne’s, Starlights and Rathgarogue-Cushinstown, and there are junior grades below that again.
Round 4 is the point in a five round group where the table starts to decide things. Wins here put teams in reach of the knockout places and leave the bottom of each group looking at a relegation play off, so this is usually the weekend when the championship stops being exploratory. Games are spread across venues such as Chadwicks Wexford Park in Wexford town, Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park in Enniscorthy, McCauley Park Bellefield, O’Kennedy Park in New Ross, Bree and Oylegate, with throw ins from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. The county board confirms the exact pairings, venues and throw in times a few days beforehand.
Games are countywide, so check the venue before travelling. Chadwicks Wexford Park is on Clonard Road on the southern side of Wexford town, and Samaritans St. Patrick’s Park is on the Wexford side of Enniscorthy. Both towns are on the M11 and N11 corridor and have railway stations on the Dublin to Rosslare line. Smaller club grounds usually have field parking and are signposted locally on match days.
