What to Expect

Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice is one of the two national fundraisers run by Together for Hospice, the national hospice movement, and the 2026 date is Thursday 24 September. The format is deliberately simple: anyone can host. People put on a coffee morning in a house, an office, a shop, a GAA clubhouse, an ICA hall or a school, Bewley’s supply the coffee free to registered hosts, and whatever is raised on the day goes to hospice and palliative care services.

In County Wexford the day has traditionally been marked in towns and villages right across the county, from Wexford Town and Rosslare Harbour out to smaller parishes, with pubs, service stations, community centres, active retirement groups and boat clubs among the regular hosts. There is no single central venue, so the way to take part is either to register your own morning or to watch local notice boards, parish newsletters and social media in the fortnight beforehand for the ones happening near you. Donations are voluntary and there is no admission charge at a coffee morning.

Getting There

Because the coffee mornings are hosted locally, there is no single address to travel to. Most Wexford hosts are in the main towns of Wexford, Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross, Bunclody and Rosslare Harbour, all of which are reachable on the M11 and N25 road network, on Bus Eireann and Wexford Bus services, and in the case of Wexford Town, Enniscorthy, Gorey and Rosslare on the Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort rail line.
