At Killua Castle · Killua, Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath, C15 EWF2
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Killua Castle in Clonmellon opens its grounds for a guided Farm Walk & Lunch on Sunday, 8 November, a two hour experience that combines a wagon tour of the estate with a lunch cooked from its own beef. Guests travel the grounds “from the comfort of the Killua Wagon” while a guide talks through the property’s history and its move into sustainable farming, including a visit to the estate’s rewilding area.
After the tour, the group sits down to lunch featuring freshly prepared burgers made from Killua Castle beef, served from the estate’s own food truck, with a vegetarian option available if requested in advance. The event is organised through the Centre of Food Culture Ireland and runs for around two hours in total. Killua Castle itself is a working estate with its own restaurant, Twelve Points, and normally opens its grounds to the public only at weekends, so a guided farm event like this is a more structured way to see parts of the property, including the rewilding area, that a standard grounds visit would not necessarily cover. Booking is through Eventbrite, and the listing notes no refunds are available once booked, so it is worth being sure of the date before paying.
Killua Castle is in Clonmellon in north Westmeath, reached by car from the N52 or R156. There is parking on site for visitors attending the event.
Clonmellon is a quiet north Westmeath village, and a stop at Killua Castle pairs naturally with the wider Fore Valley and Castlepollard area for anyone making a day of the north of the county. There is more to see across Co. Westmeath.
