At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Ralph McTell plays Theatre Royal Waterford on Saturday 7 November 2026 with Somewhere Down the Road, billed by the venue as his final national tour. McTell has been writing and performing for more than fifty years, and is known worldwide for Streets of London, the song that won him the Ivor Novello Award and has been recorded by a long list of other artists since.
The tour coincides with a new album on which Irish artists reinterpret his compositions, sitting alongside fresh material of his own, so the set has more than a retrospective to draw on. The theatre describes the evening as a heartfelt, celebratory journey through the life and songs of one of Britain’s most cherished musical talents. Alcohol is served during the performance and patrons may dance, with the usual request to be mindful of seated guests. Children may attend with parental consent. Tickets are €36.50.
Theatre Royal is on The Mall in Waterford city centre, a couple of minutes’ walk from the Quay and the city centre bus stops. Drivers use the M9 from Dublin or the N25 from Cork and Wexford, and multi-storey and on-street parking sit within a few minutes of the theatre. Plunkett Station, Waterford’s rail and Bus Eireann terminus, is on the north bank of the Suir, roughly fifteen minutes on foot across Rice Bridge.
